Quick Blog
ivee

And I mean really quick. I promised my sister I'd be done before she can even say "get the hell off the PC I have tons of work to doooo!"

Just a rundown of what I have been doing lately:

Watched another Audrey Hepburn film and got disappointed. Funny Face was not funny at all, at least from my point of view. I got bored and not even the charm of Ms. Hepburn was able to cheer me up a bit. And it didn't help either that her screen partner was old-enough to be her grandpa. Yuck. Although I was warned by IMDB that it was a musical, I did not expect the musical scenes to be that looong and boooring. Sabi nga ng nanay ko, "sayang ang oras sa paganyan-ganyan nila."

Anyhow, I still love Audrey and am looking forward to watch the last of her films in my collection: Paris When it Sizzles. Which reminds me, I have to find a copy of My Fair Lady. Wouldn't want to miss that Oscar winner.

Other than Funny Face, I was also able to watch a couple of flicks courtesy of Star Movies and HBO. How to Eat Fried Worms and, just a few hours ago, Employee of the Month (I still don't see why Jessica Simpson is considered hot. She looks like Britney Spears to me).

Moving on, I am also enjoying Jessica Zafra's compilation of movie reviews, Twisted Flicks. She's so hilariously entertaining and very intelligent.

What else? Oh, about that looming anxiety attack, I think I have it under control, though I'm still showing some of the signs.

My family and I will be glued to the tube in the next three hours (at least). PBA-Smart Philippine Cup Championship between Sta. Lucia Realtors and Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants (our team). My dad, who's here on vacation, is a diehard fan. As in.

Well, that's about it. Have a great week y'all!

Super Random Stuff
ivee

Reached home earlier than usual today, thanks to the new shuttle terminal at Dela Rosa car park!It was a 10-minute walk (more or less) from my office, but I didn't mind because I walked with Paul and it was an instant bonding activity for us. I didn't feel tired at all. Also, we saved P5 on our total fare, since we didn't have to take a jeepney to get there [with out previous route, we take a jeepney to get to the SM car park terminal (P7.50 x 2 = P15). Then the fx ride costs P30. With this new route the fx fare is P35, but since we go to the terminal by foot...you do the math]. I just hope this new terminal stays because it's much more convenient for us.

Moving on, my day turned out fine despite the attempt of this creep to ruin it by actually trying to talk to me. This creep in no other than my former stalker. I'm not really mean, but I'm not pretentious either. Hindi ko talaga siya feel, kaya 'wag siyang mag-ilusyon na maging close sa'kin.

Hay. pic blog na nga lang! Here are some of the things that have been cheering me up lately:

PSP

Paul's PSP named Hubble. I'm so addicted to Tekken! Haha! And yes, that's my site on the screen. This baby is also Wi-Fi-enabled. Bibili talaga 'ko nito, yung pink na slim!

Twisted & Sony

J. Zafra's Twisted Flicks and my Sony MP3 player, which I have yet to name. Any suggestions? This dynamic duo has been my boredom buster for the last week and they never fail to entertain me during my idle moments.

Crispy Kangkong

And last but certainly not the least, Dencio's Crispy Kangkong! Sobrang favorite ko na 'to! Kahit wala nang ibang ulam basta may Crispy Kangkong, solb na ko! Haha!

Mabuti nalang at may mga simpleng bagay sa mundo ma pwedeng makapagpasaya sa tao.

Other than these I also have my collection of Audrey Hepburn films, other books, a loving family, friends and a very patient, caring and understanding boyfriend to lift me up on days when I feel so low.

But of course, the greatest inspiration comes from the ONE up there. I thank God for all blessings, big and small.

***

Natutuwa talaga ako dito sa Coffee Prince. Ang sasaya ng personalities ng lahat ng characters! Hehe. Kaya lang parang laging bitin.

Hmmm... ano pa ba? Hay, wala na 'kong maisip at mejo antok na kaya ba-bye na muna! Good night!

What the stars say about Geminis today
ivee

A.K.A. our Horoscope. This one's from Business Mirror:

"Check out job postings. You will meet new people who can open your eyes to new ways of doing things. Your inquisitive mind will lead you to revise your goals and reduce your boredom. An added responsibility will help you make a personal decision. 2 stars."

Like most of you, I only believe my horoscope when it says nice things or things that I am actually looking forward to. This one they must have written with me in mind.

When I get married...
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead

I will choose a reception venue with a full-functioning wash room. I wouldn't want our guests to have a hard time looking for a water source or be troubled by the malfunctioning locks on each cubicle's door.

The reception venue should also be big-enough to house EVERYONE of our guests. Nobody should be made to seat around tables at the garden area.

There won't be any interpretative dances DURING (or even after) the wedding ceremony.

There won't be any presentation of taped interviews of my and my groom's parents, siblings, friends, etc. Masyadong showbiz.

If an AVP is really necessary (to show-off the "high-tech-ness" of the wedding coordinator), it should only contain pictures accompanied by songs that I and my groom like and should not be titled this way: My Name & Groom's Name: The Wedding.

I will not choose lime/neon green and yellow as the motif.

*Today I witnessed the exchange of vows between two people I don't really know. I mean, I know their names but it was my first time to meet them. The groom is the son of my dad's friend, who also works in Saudi Arabia. My mom also came with us. I think their wedding was lovely, like any weddings should be, but being the OC that I am, I just had to take note of the goofs to avoid committing them during my own wedding.

By the way, the wedding was in Tagaytay and it started at around 9 a.m. and we were there waaay before it started, which means I was up at 5 a.m. and on the road by 6:30, which means I AM DEAD TIRED AND SLEEPY.

I miss Paul. Looking forward to my Sunday with him.

[Random] Morning Blabs
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead

I gotta stop walking around the streets with my earphones on, especially when I'm listening to Magic 89.9's morning show because I couldn't help laughing at their banters and I look stupid laughing by myself.

Is there really a massive transport stike? Obviously I'm not affected because I'm right here in my boss' room using my boss' PC to waste cyber ink. I got here through my usual route and everything seemed normal.

After the Ruffa-Lani-Anabelle-Lolit hullabaloo, it's now the Bb. Pilipinas World winner's turn to be the center of forums allover the net and the hot topic of discussions in every corner of the country, or even the globe.

I regret not watching the entire pageant last Saturday as I was busy tinkering with my blog template and also because I'm not really a big fan of beauty pageants. But thank goodness for the ever-reliable youtube, I was still able to watch the much talked-about interview of Ms. Janina San Miguel. Prior to watching it on my boss's laptop (which at first won't work but eventually cooperated), I had already read about the incident in the newspapers and even then my reaction was "she did what?! And she actually won the most-coveted title?!" so imagine the horror on my face when I finally got to watch it on youtube.

After watching it, my boss and I also had the chance to read the comments of those who have seen the 'incident'. Some asked, "adik ba sya?" while others blamed the judges for making her win.

As for me, I don't really care. I was entertained but I also feel sorry for the girl. Madali sa atin magtawa at magsabi ng kung ano-ano against her, pero kung tayo ba ang nasa stage na yun that night, sigurado ba tayong masasagot natin nang maayos yung question na yun?

Enough of this. Still have lots to do.

Gone for the weekend
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead

Road Trip...and away from the cyberworld for the rest of the week.

Will be going somewhere up North with Paul and a couple of my USTe friends. During this trip I hope to clear my head of everything that's been bugging me lately and finally get to use my Holga (which at this point seems quite impossible since I still don't have any 120 rolls.)

I won't be going online starting tonight 'til Saturday as a form of fasting. Being a self-confessed cyber addict (who really needs to go on rehab), a full week away from the PC would really be a BIG sacrifice for me.

Be back in a week. Have a great weekend and a blessed, contemplative and prayerful Holy Week ahead.

I CAN'T DO IT!
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead

I can't be away from the PC THAT looong!

Hmpft.

But while I managed to break my promise of not going online 'til Saturday, there is still one thing that I am restraining myself from doing and this time I am determined to succeed.

Anyway, so I'm back from another fun and exciting but bitin getaway. I'm still sorting the photos that I've taken using my own digicam and waiting for my travel buddies to post their takes for me to grab and post, probably on my Multiply page, so until then keep guessing where I've been to.

I was thisclose to using my Holga during the trip. The person from whom I was supposed to buy a 35mm adaptor canceled about 10 minutes before our meet-up. I can't blame her though. It was really a short notice. Oh well, better luck on my next out-of-town trip.

More kwento and photos later, I've got tons of work to do.

Delete, delete, DELETE!
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead

Yesterday I deleted almost all of my playlists in Multiply because I got an email from Multiply customer service saying that "one or more of your music playlists was found to be in violation of Multiply's terms of service regarding copyrights," and that they have deleted a certain music file. They suggested that I "do the same with any other items that may
contain copyrighted material," because they "reserve the right to cancel
your account if we discover another violation." Yeah right. Like I'm the only one doing that.

When did they start checking on the users' uploads anyway? Months ago I joined this "protest" against Multiply for banning music file sharing by not logging on for 24 hours. Well, I sort of joined the protest. I did not have access to the Internet that day since I was out on official business, so protest or no protest, there was no way I could have opened my Multiply account then.

Anyway, Multiply users freaked out when they were suddenly unable to download music uploaded by other users because Multiply has disabled that feature, hence the "NO MULTIPLY DAY." I'm guessing it didn't work.

We users can't really do anything about it, can we? We can protest all we want, boycott Multiply for a week, a month or even delete our accounts (as if we'd let our precious photo albums and blog entries be lost in cyberspace forever), but still only they have the power to enable and disable features. Tsk, tsk. Good thing there's still Limewire and Frostwire for our cyber piracy pleasures.

It's too early to blog
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead

...on my side of the planet, that is.

Happy Easter everyone!

And as we all know, Easter Sunday signals the end of our looong vacation. Sob. I must do something productive today, like go swimming or change my Multiply theme.

My mom just called me fat. Not directly, actually. She told my sister, "ang taba nga ng ate mo ngayon," and my sister happily told me. Now this means that I really am fat because my mom never notices it whenever I gain weight, not until now so I guess it has become really obvious that I've been stuffing myself with too much carb. What a bummer.

I never seem to get enough sleep no matter how many hours I spend in dreamland. What's weirder is, I feel more recharged when I get only 5 hours of sleep or less than when I get seven or eight full hours of slumber. Hmpft. I have yet to solve this mystery.

Oh goody, look at the time. It's too early to blog and my thoughts are not yet that organized (are they ever?). Happy Easter again! Catch you later.

Oh nooo!!!
ivee | Books, Flicks & the Tube

Yesterday on my way to Glorietta to pay my phone bill I passed through Landmark. And like what (almost) always happens whenever I pass through this mall, I went on an impulse dvd shopping.

dvd loot
Clockwise: Chocolat, Charade, Mona Lisa Smile and The Nun's Story

They were all on sale, otherwise I would have walked out of the store empty-handed and screaming.

My original plan was to drop by NBS since I've heard, or rather, I've read from Jessica Zafra that they're having a sale. Unfortunately I was lured by racks of dvds screaming "take me! take me! I'm hard-to-find and I'M ON SALE!" before I could even reach the shelves. Maybe I'll try NBS today. Then again, what's left of my budget is just enough to keep me from starving 'til next pay day.

Still looking for Audrey
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead, Audrey Love

Holly Golightly

I was (again) trying to find an Audrey Hepburn print bag (that I can actually afford) on the Net when I stumbled upon this piece of fabulous art. It's a Holly Golightly cameo locket necklace being sold by Dan & Lou of Bijoux de Lou. Lovely, lovely, lovely! Sigh. If only I were rich.

Get Holly

Speaking of Holly Golightly, please check out Clarise Ng's online store Holly for one-of-a-kind accessories that would instantly add glam to any outfit. She has necklaces, cuffs and charms and will be coming up with a line of totes and make-up kits SOON.

Testing Tabulas Beta
ivee | Waking Moments of a Sleepyhead

I tried using the new Tabulas Control Panel before but I switched back to the old one because I couldn't figure out how to manipulate it. And besides, I was already used to the original control panel. I was fine with it, despite the difficulty in posting photos on the entries.

Then I read the announcement from the Tabulas administrator inviting Beta Testers to try the new and improved Control Panel. It looked promising so I gave it a shot and this would be my very first post using the new control panel.

It's okay, so far. It's easier to post photos on entries because you need not upload them to photobucket or other photo hosts before you could add them to your blog since the photo gallery now allows unlimited uploads, woohoo! No need to worry about running out of space, especially for certified camwhores such as moi. It also allows unlimited number of categories, which is pretty cool.

Ooops. I just encountered a problem. Where the hell are the emoticons?! When I click on the icon, a small tab appears but instead of smileys, it contains the Tabulas homepage. What gives? I hope they fix this soon.

In the mean time, I think I might switch back to the old control panel again. But I do hope that they can fix this problem, and others that might arise, soon. I kinda like this new control panel.

That will be all. Good Night!

Hindi ko alam...
ivee | Happy Accidents

Finally found Ms. Audrey!
ivee | Books, Flicks & the Tube, Audrey Love

I finally got myself a copy of My Fair Lady last Friday. I dropped by Astro Plus in SM Makati and that's where I found this special 2-disc edition of the Oscar-winning film starring Audrey Hepburn. I spent about 30 minutes going through the racks of DVDs and VCDs but couldn't find the film in either format, so I decided to just buy the Sound of Music VCD. However, on my way to the cashier I spotted this rack of DVDs and there it was, waiting for me to pick her up, bring her home and add her to my growing collection.

As usual, I can't wait to watch this, but not before Paris When it Sizzles, The Nun's Story and Charade. Let's just say I'm saving the best for last.Wink

Aside from this I also found a VCD of War and Peace, which also stars Audrey Hepburn, but decided against buying it after seeing that its 3-discs long.

It has been a tiring day for me and Music and Lyrics is on HBO, so I'm logging out now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
