I'm back...
ivee

...from the company summer outing held at Blue Palm resort in Calamba, Laguna. And since I'm still too tired to write about anything, I'll just let the photos tell the story:

blue palm

This is the right resort, not PALM SPRING(s). Dun kasi kami unang dinala ng bus driver. Parehas nga namang may "palm" kaya nakakalito. We ended up taking a jeepney. Nakarating naman kami ng matiwasay.

the resort

The place was really nice. Big-enough for all of us. Actually sobrang laki nga eh. Okay din yung facilities. May billiard table, table tennis, indoor pool at jacuzzi sa labas ng bawat room.

Later that evening...

tipsy

*still waiting for photos from Geoff's digicam, which works even when wet (waterproof).

After what seemed like forever...
ivee

...Paul and I finally managed to go malling today, yipee! We spent our Holy Week at home doing 'traditional stuff' like joining the procession and watching the Ten Commandments and today, since it's officially okay to have fun again, we decided to go shopping. Actually he did the shopping (surprise, surprise!). He bought a new pair of shoes (for a very important occasion), a flashdrive and a memory card for his digicam.

And since he was being so generous, he also bought me the April ish of Fudge magazine (Oh yes, I resisted those girly mags! haha!) and a Kripy Kreme mug .

krispy kreme
I have to learn to love coffee

Isang araw nalang, may pasok nanaman...

Have to make the most out of what's left of my vacation.

I'm back to...
ivee

...online shopping, hehe. This time I'm surfing Multiply for some really fab finds. Last night I picked up two items, which I bought from Vanity Suite online store and I'm sooo loving both! One is a summer necklace made of coco heishe beads with sparkling capiz pendant and the other is a Russian stone necklace:

summer necklace
Coco Pomelo summer necklace

Russian stone necklace
Tiara Russian stone necklace

While waiting for the seller (and Paul) I wandered around Glorietta and found myself craving for one of my ultimate comfort foods: SOUR CREAM-FLAVORED FRIES! So I lined up at Potato Corner and ordered a large serving of the fattening delight. Heaven.

Potato Corner
Ang paborito kong patatas!

fries
Clockwise from top left: BBQ, plain, my favorite sour cream
and cheese fries!

Right before I consumed all of the fries, Paul came. He hadn't eaten dinner yet and since I was meeting the seller at Food Choices, we decided to grab a bite there. He went for his favorite Cucina 3 viands combo while I ordered Caesar's salad from Salad Days. Mapagpanggap na nagda-diet! Haha!

Salad
My salad

Earlier Gel, now the 'art director' of Total Woman Magazine, dropped by the office and gave me and Jean a copy each of their Apr-May ish. "Kaya ko kayo binigyan niyan para ma-inspire kayong magpa-sexy," he said. I was inspired alright but I have to find the will power to actually DO IT.

Hmmm..what else? Ah! I found 1984, yey! It's a shop that sells good quality racerbacks. I'm not sure if it's a newly-opened branch or matagal na at hindi ko lang nakikita. I was able to buy two from their branch in Market! Market! before but when I came back the following week to buy another, sarado na yung branch nila dun. Since then I had always wondered where their other branches were or if they do have other branches. And yesterday when I stumbled upon their branch in Gold Crest, I did not think twice to buy a purple racerback.

*Looking forward to real shopping today with mom and sis. Gotta buy that pair of skinny jeans!

When the weekend ends
ivee

When the weekend ends, most people naturally feel sad since it signals the start of another very tiring work week. That's exactly how I'm feeling now.

On a lighter note, my family and I watched "Ang Cute ng Ina Mo" last Saturday, hehe. Ang saya! Laugh trip all the way!

Did not buy that pair of skinny pants dahil masikip (sob) and pangit yung feet (sniff). But I did buy a pair of black straight pants, shorts, a pair of shades and a red top so ang ending eh broke parin ako, huhu. Tipid, tipid, tipid!

What an achievement!

Sana maging maganda ang linggong ito. Sana walang maging problema.

Another sign
ivee

Paul and I have long been planning on trying our luck abroad and our primary target country is Singapore. Of course, we get excited everytime we come across anything about it and we even take them as 'signs' that our dream of going there will soon be a reality. Imagine my thrill when I saw Manila Bulletin's Dear Me's topic today:

Some things about Singapore

Dear Me,

Spent an entire week in Singapore. And from sightseeing in Sentosa, Jurong Bird Park and Botanical Garden, walking down and shopping at Orchard Road, Mustafa, Bugis, and, of course, Lucky Plaza, clubbing and bar-hopping around Clarke Quay, and catching a concert at the Esplanade, we learned about the country beyond what brochures tell…

1) There are no police on the streets because Singapore is "Ed" country. That is, cameras are everywhere and most mobile phones indicate where every one is via GSM. One mess up and the police will be breathing down your neck in less than five minutes. Promise, they will find you.

2) There’s no time difference between the Philippines and Singapore. But the sun rises at 7 and sets at 7 there. Singapore is ghost town till about 6 p.m. because every one is working prior. The sun is as bright as in Manila but not as hot. Heat in Singapore at noon is our dose of Vitamin D here at 9 a.m.

3) Ask Singaporeans about smoke belching and they’d go, "What’s that?"

4) A Happy Meal in Singapore costs about S$ 4. At P32 to S$ 1, that’s about P130. Indeed, if you want your First World, then pay for your First World.

5) The only litter on the street is dried leaves yet there’s no Metro Aide around. How do they do it? Who cleans up? Elves at night?

6) Taxi fare could be paid by credit card for a surcharge of 15% (bummer). Minimum fare is S.50. We’ve had a driver try to dupe us into agreeing to ‘contracting’ (sans use of meter) for a trip but it was solved easily: we did not get in. That can be done in Singapore because there’s taxi everywhere all the time unlike here when you sometimes just have to bite the bullet.

7) The buses in Singapore don’t bear names of destination. Instead, everything is number coded. Buses arrive at and depart from stations on time so many don’t see the need for private cars. People queue up to board and every passenger is seated even during rush hour.

8) In some underpass, musicians are licensed to play certain nights for money. Most of the singing is horrible in drunken kung fu master fashion, and songs are from land before time. But the concept is so charmingly Parisian so we coughed up a few cents now and then.

9) Sales don’t happen in Singapore until the ‘ber’ months when every one has had their bonuses. If you go in summer, you’re bound to just bring home necklace and watch souvenirs at three pieces for S (P300). That or bring home the toiletries and stationery from your hotel room.

10) The food served in stalls reflects authentic Singapore cuisine best. Singaporean food is mostly sweet and sour spiced up by green chili peppers. The serving of rice every where we ate was so generous that we wonder how most Singaporeans keep within ideal body mass. Ah, yes, few pork dishes on the menu.

11) Don’t miss out on taking the subway and cable car. It will take years before we’ll have them in the P.I. Bring a camera — and never you mind if people stare. Tell them "I see dead people walking" then toodle-doo. Watch them grow pale while looking left and right.

12) Never ever give a tip. At the airport, it’s prohibited by law. Elsewhere, it’s an affront to their dignity. Okay, fine.

(TO BE CONTINUED)

                                                          source: http://www.mb.com.ph

We know that going there won't be that easy. Everything has to be carefully planned. We are keeping our fingers crossed and doing our best to prepare ourselves for this big step...in case fate allows us to take it.

Another penniless weekend
ivee

I'm broke, so broke

BUT, the good news is, by May...hehehe. Secret na lang. It's not really that big a deal.

The search for the complete season 2 dvd of Prison Break is over. And by tomorrow, I'll be glued to the t.v. watching ALL of it. Buwahahahaha!

By Sunday naman Paul and I already have an itinerary and it's gonna be a busy day.

Happy weekend everyone! Enjoy it while it lasts!

An afternoon in Bagumbong
ivee

Saan yun? Sa Caloocan. It was my former roommate's graduation lunch treat. Saya! Dami food, as in! hehe..sayang di ako nakapag-picture . He sang his all-time favorite videoke song: "Panalangin" by the Apo Hiking Society. He got 95!

Aside from me and Paul, my other roommate Bumy was also there. The three of us represented USTe. Kasi si Tin, yung host, actually studied in three different schools throughout college: UST (B.S. Pharmacy), San Beda (Legal Management [basta pre-law na course]) and MCU where she finally graduated with a B.S. Pharmacy degree. She's going to pursue Medicine, this time sa FEU (in Fairview, Q.C.). Sipag noh?

Anyway, her other friends from her other colleges were also there, and most of them (yung mga taga Beda, I think) really got well-acquainted with the microphone. Okay naman mga boses nila at nakaka-aliw and performances.

What else happened to me during the weekend....ah, I finished the Prison Break season 2 dibidi and guess what? BITIN PARIN! At eto pa, there's a third season, which will premiere in August! I guess madami talagang hooked sa palabas na to even in other parts of the world kaya may next season pa..I'm guessing Micheal Scofield will try to escape from the prison in Panama naman sa season 3, haha!

Speaking of new seasons, Gilmore Girls' next season will premiere on Studio 23 on May 11 (Friday)! Sigh. This means no Friday night movies from then on...then again, I can always hunt for the complete season 7 dibidi in Divi...hehe..basta I can't wait to see this new season dahil balita ko this is "the season that will leave you speachless".

May pasok nanaman bukas...hope this week turns out good.

My dad's coming home!
ivee

Yey! My dad's coming home today! And that is why I took the day off. Yup, I'm on leave and I spent the day getting much-needed Zzzzs and, of course, surfing the net.

Anyway, met up with my USTe friends and Ryan last night at--you guessed it right--Starbucks Waltermart for another coffee night. Our agenda for the evening: catching up on Ryan's and Candice's lovelives, a visit to Maui and our getaway with Jie (who's flying home from Guam real soon). But before gulping down caffeine, Anj treated us for dinner at --you guessed it right again--Amici di Don Bosco. It was her belated birthday blowout. Thanks again Anj!

Hmmm...makulimlim ang paligid. Waaahhh...don't tell me summer's over! No! Hindi ko pa nae-enjoy...magbo-Bora pa kami!

kulimlim

I sure hope ngayon lang ang ganitong weather. I mean, I don't enjoy the scorching heat, but I don't like getting wet in the rain either.
